Over the course of six weeks artist Claire Pastoors and 13 Junior School students worked on a project that combines images and poems about Hamburg and the river Elbe to a large mural painting.
To recognize the creative collaboration of students and artists, the completion was celebrated on a Friday evening. Snacks and drinks were served as the guests had time to gaze upon this colorful and creative piece of art. During this event, Claire Pastoors showed a vivid presentation of the progress during the six-week project. Other speakers were teacher Cathy Barreca and Patricia Pledger, speaking for BRIDFAS (The British Decorative and Fine Arts Society of Hamburg e.V.), the initiator and sponsor of the project. To complete the event, a student choir sang pirate songs and some junior student artists recited their poems that were also painted on the wall.
