Proud of Consistent Academic Achievement in the IBDP

At this time of the year, we would like to take a look back at our student's academic achievements over the last two years:

The IB Diploma is a rigorous academic programme and the 2015 and 2016 results have shown that an ISH education can consistently lead to academic success.  In 2016 and 2015 a student has achieved a perfect 45 points something that is extremely rare globally (less than 1% of global IB DIP candidates).

Over 10% of the class achieved between 40 and 45 points (13.5 % in 2016 and 12% in 2015) and our overall pass rate is also good with 93% of students achieving the full Diploma in 2016.

The number of students taking the full IB Diploma is rising each year but our results remain strong.  In 2016 39% of the students achieved over 35 points (27% in 2015) and over 50% of the students each year achieve more than 30 points (56% in 2016 and 55% 2015). 49% of the graduating class of 2016 achieved what is called the Bilingual Diploma.  This means that they took two language A courses which are designed for native speakers.

The results really are the result of tremendous hard work from students and the experience and advice offered from staff.  We do not have selection criteria for entry into the Diploma and our classes include students from across the ability range.  We are extremely proud that students can attain high academic standards and are proud of the learning environment at ISH that encourages high standards with a focus on achieving full potential.
