Organized by the CollegeCouncil, the International College Day is Germany’s largest independent fair for English-speaking studies abroad. By now in its 6th year, it is held in various cities across Germany. On Wednesday, 23 September the fair visited ISH for the second time in a row.
The College Day offers useful brochures, application forms, a chance to compare offers and – first and foremost – the opportunity to clarify important questions in person. 45 renowned exhibitors from the U.S. (e.g. University of California, Davis), Canada (University of British Columbia), Great Britain (e.g. University of St. Andrews), France, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Austria presented themselves to hundreds of interested students and parents from Hamburg and the wider region. Even students from the International School of Bremen were spotted! Various lectures on such topics as “German and Anglo-American study systems in comparison” rounded off the program.
Hosting the College Day provides obvious benefits for ISH students, who are systematically informed and advised about their school and university careers as of grade 9 by College Counselor Birgit Preu.
“We are very pleased with our cooperation with the CollegeCouncil. During the fair, interested pupils and students from Hamburg and beyond have a chance to gain attractive insights into the various opportunities for studying abroad. With its international-mindedness and English as teaching language, our school is an ideal fit”, Head of School Andreas Swoboda explains.
The Berlin-based, independent and non-profit CollegeCouncil has been involved in international educational exchanges since 2003. It offers diverse opportunities for students, pupils, graduates, professionals and trainees to study or work abroad, mainly in English-speaking countries.
