Assessment in the MYP

Student achievements are assessed against four criteria in each subject area. Each criterion corresponds to a specific subject objective.

Students are exposed to a variety of assessment tasks throughout the MYP that will allow them to demonstrate achievement according to the objectives for each subject group. These could include:

  • open-ended, problem-solving activities
  • investigations
  • tests and examinations
  • organized debates
  • hands-on experimentation
  • analysis and reflection.

Students’ achievement levels are recorded against each criterion in each subject area and reported to students and parents providing them with detailed feedback on progress.
