Ghana Project

The Ghana Project is for 11th Grade students who have to complete a service component as part of CAS for their IB Diploma.

The Project began in 2000 and has developed over the years. We have built classrooms for a poor rural school in a remote area called Asutsuare. Classroom blocks, a library and small computer laboratory have been built for the Junior School, greatly enhancing the ability of staff to deliver lessons. Previously classes were taught outside.

Currently our project is with the Senior School where we are building a Recreation Centre, which will include an Internet Café and eventually sports facilities and accommodation for the students. The present boarding facility is of an extremely poor standard.

As well as building, we send many items by sea in a container. These to assist the students and teachers and include computers for the school and staff and many books and other items needed for the school.

Last year we had 17 students and 3 teachers travelling to Ghana to continue our work and to learn about the rich Ghanaian culture.
