It is a pleasure to welcome you to our website!
I invite you to explore it and to learn more about the oldest international school in Germany.
At the International School of Hamburg, we are in a continual process of re-invention and renewal. While we will be celebrating our 60th anniversary in 2017, we like to believe that we are young in spirit and that our best years still lie ahead.
The Hanseatic City of Hamburg and ISH have forged a deeply-rooted partnership since our inception in 1957. As the second largest port in Europe, our host city is a global melting pot and one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Germany. The overall quality of life and the outstanding natural environment that Hamburg offers make it a very desirable destination for expatriate families. It is small enough to navigate easily on foot, bicycle or by public transport, and large enough to offer a sophisticated urban vibe and world-class shopping, dining and culture.
At ISH you will find:
- a dedicated teaching and support staff
- an internationally-minded, multi-lingual student population
- an extensive co-curricular programme
- outstanding academic and athletic facilities
- an active and supportive parent community
- a fully accredited school with a global reach
Our curricula—the International Primary Curriculum and the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes—serve our students well and enable them to become the kind of inquiring, ethical and risk-taking thinkers the world will need in the 21st century. Our diversity of perspectives, values, ideas and beliefs make ISH a special place to teach and learn.
Whether you are already a member of our school community, have come to our website as a prospective new student or parent, or just feel curious to learn more about ISH, you are most welcome to spend some time with us. I urge you to contact me directly, or to reach out to any member of our Leadership Team for further information or to ask questions about our school programmes.
Thank you for taking the time to visit, and I hope to see you soon!
